The Regional MEAL Coordinator provides strategic and technical leadership to strengthen Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) systems across the Asia Region, including Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Mirpur (AJK), and Afghanistan. The role ensures that programmes are evidence-based, accountable, and aligned with organizational standards and donor requirements.
The position plays a key role in programme design, proposal development, and planning processes by supporting the integration of robust MEAL frameworks, realistic targets, quality data management systems, and cost-effective budgeting. Acting as a vital link between country offices and the Global MEAL Desk, the Regional MEAL Coordinator promotes cross-country learning, knowledge sharing, continuous improvement, and programme quality across the region.
Responsibilities
1. Provide Strategic MEAL Leadership Across the Asia Region
Lead and strengthen Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) systems across Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Mirpur (AJK), and Afghanistan, ensuring programmes are evidence-based, results-focused, accountable, and aligned with organizational and donor requirements.
2. Lead Programme Design, Proposal Development, and MEAL Integration
Support country offices in the design of high-quality programmes and donor proposals by developing robust logical frameworks, indicators, targets, theories of change, and MEAL plans that demonstrate impact, value for money, and measurable outcomes.
3. Strengthen Monitoring, Evaluation, and Data Quality Systems
Establish and oversee regional monitoring frameworks, data quality assurance mechanisms, and performance tracking systems to ensure timely, accurate, and reliable data collection, analysis, reporting, and decision-making across all country offices.
4. Drive Accountability, Learning, and Continuous Improvement
Promote a culture of accountability and organizational learning by strengthening feedback and complaints mechanisms, analysing programme performance, capturing lessons learned, and ensuring evidence is used to improve programme quality and effectiveness throughout the Asia Region.
5. Provide Technical Support and Capacity Building to Country Offices
Act as the primary MEAL focal point for the Asia Region, providing technical guidance, coaching, mentoring, and training to country teams while building sustainable MEAL capacity and ensuring compliance with organizational standards and donor expectations.
6. Foster Regional Coordination, Knowledge Management, and Reporting Excellence
Serve as the key liaison between country offices and the Global MEAL Desk, facilitating cross-country collaboration, knowledge sharing, innovation, and the production of high-quality regional and donor reports that demonstrate programme impact and support strategic decision-making.
