One of our client who have their customer Technical and Operations Headquarters is based in Paris and they are providing global 3G/4G/5G and LTE-M connectivity solutions for Mobile.Virtual Network Operators, Internet of Things (IoT) as well as enterprises distributed workforce. As you will be in contact with our international clients and partners, a very good English level is required for this role.

The NOC Level2 Engineer will be responsible for

  • Be available and flexible as regards working hours
  • Carry out diagnostics and perform a rigorous follow-up of technical incidents.
  • Work with technical platform suppliers, mobile operators, and the internal technical teams to resolve the incidents.
  • Communicate service incidents to customers and suppliers.
  • Take part in acceptance testing of telecoms services.
  • Be responsible for back-office operations, configuring telecoms services and platforms: modifying pricing plans, launching new MVNO offers, and provisioning.
  • Your profile you have a higher education diploma or degree in technology, you have already worked successfully with a NOC operator (preferably GSM mobile), as an IT support technician (billing, CRM, provisioning) or as a telecom network supervisor.

You have several of the following technical skills:

  • Working knowledge of SQL & Mysql
  • Working knowledge of Unix/Linux
  • Data management and analysis using Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of network/service architectures
  • Real-time monitoring on the Network Monitoring System (NMS)
  • Initial alarms trouble shooting (logs, traces, CDRs), alarm verifications, impact analysis and next actions.
  • Handling and assistance in the execution of Change Requests including scheduling, process flow ownership, customer communication and execution.
  • Good command of internet and mobile telephone services
  • Troubleshooting/investigation methodology
  • Execution of minor / routine technical activates.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • French or German language can be a plus.
  • You are organized and have a sense of curiosity. You know how to deal with stress and are a good teacher.
  • You have a real sense of customer service and get on well with people.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 to 5 year NOC and Customer handling experience in IT, ISP or Telecom Operations
  • Strong operational experience on Jira Service Desk and/or other ticketing and NMS platforms
  • Protocol analysis and troubleshooting hands on skills using protocol analyser such as Wireshark.
  • Knowledge of Telecommunications protocols such as SS7/Diameter/SMPP/HTTP will be considered as an asset.
  • High Proficiency in English (both written and verbal)
  • Scripting: shell, dos will be considered as an asset
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willing to learn new technologies
  • Able to adjust plans as necessary and provide alternative strategies to meet changing operational situations.
  • Able to work remotely on his/her own initiative.
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to work on European office time (8am to 6pm)
  • Having an excellent Internet connection as this role for the moment is home based.
