Accountant

Ok International is seeking a detail-oriented and responsible Accountant to join its team for a construction project located in Port Qasim, Karachi. The ideal candidate will oversee site accounting and financial operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies. This role does not involve managing a team but requires coordinating with vendors, suppliers, labor, and subcontractors to maintain comprehensive financial and asset records. The successful applicant will utilize ERP software and computerized scanning systems to manage inventory, assets, payroll, and daily expenses efficiently. The Accountant plays a critical role in sustaining the financial integrity of the project by preparing timely financial reports, maintaining general ledger records, and reconciling accounts. This position requires a professional with 1 to 4 years of relevant experience in accounting, preferably with familiarity in construction or site accounting. Proficiency in Excel and various accounting software tools is essential, alongside a solid understanding of financial reporting, account reconciliation, and payroll management. The candidate should hold a relevant qualification such as B.Com, M.Com, ACCA, or their equivalent.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily site accounts including tracking expenses, petty cash, payments, and receipts to maintain accurate financial records.
- Maintain and reconcile the general ledger to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial data.
- Handle accounts payable and receivable, coordinating with vendors, suppliers, subcontractors, and labor to ensure timely payments and collections.
- Oversee inventory management using the companys scanning system to maintain accurate stock and asset records.
- Manage asset tracking and asset management with the support of scanning tools to safeguard company property.
- Administer payroll tasks including monitoring attendance, calculating salaries, processing advances, and deductions accurately through the scanning system.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly financial and cash reports and summaries for management review.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies by maintaining detailed and organized records.
- Use ERP software such as SAP or Oracle Financials to streamline accounting processes and improve data reliability.
- Support audits and financial reviews by preparing necessary documentation and responding to inquiries promptly.
- Continuously update and improve accounting procedures and practices for enhanced operational efficiency.
