Poverty Eradication Initiative (PEI) is seeking a highly skilled Data Analytics & Visualization Specialist to join our dynamic team. This experienced professional will play a pivotal role in transforming complex data into actionable insights through advanced analytics and compelling visualizations. The ideal candidate should possess a strong background in data science, with at least 10 years of experience, particularly in Power BI, Tableau, and data transformation techniques. In this role, the specialist will lead a team of 20 professionals, fostering collaboration and ensuring the delivery of high-quality analytics solutions that drive strategic decision-making and support the organization's mission to reduce poverty.
The specialist will be responsible for harnessing large datasets to create meaningful reports and dashboards that empower stakeholders at all levels. Expertise in data reporting, shaping, and transformation using tools such as Power Query and M Language is essential. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand business needs, develop analytical models, and visualize data trends that promote transparency and efficiency within the organization. Strong leadership skills are necessary to manage the team effectively while maintaining high standards in data quality and project delivery.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of 20 data professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance evaluation to foster a productive work environment.
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable dashboards and reports using Tableau, Power BI, and other visualization tools to support strategic objectives.
- Analyze complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights that inform data-driven decision-making across departments.
- Implement data transformation and shaping workflows utilizing Power Query and M Language to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, define scope, and translate business needs into technical analytics solutions.
- Develop and enforce best practices for data analytics, visualization standards, and documentation to enhance team efficiency and output quality.
- Monitor and optimize data reporting processes for timeliness, relevance, and user accessibility.
- Conduct ongoing training and development sessions to advance team members skills in analytics tools and data science methodologies.
- Ensure compliance with data governance policies and maintain data security and privacy standards.
- Evaluate new data visualization and analytics technologies to continuously innovate and improve reporting capabilities.

Poverty is the root cause of every problem in the society, has no doubts worse affects on human life. Traditional gender roles in Pakistan especially in NWFP, which remains indulged in tribal culture, define the woman’s place as in the home and not in the workplace, and define the man as the breadwinner. Consequently, the society invests far less in women than men. Women in NWFP suffer more from poverty of opportunities throughout their lives as compared to other provinces. Economic vulnerability is a key factor in the rise of poverty in Pakistan; vulnerability also arises from social powerlessness, political instability, and ill-functioning institutions. Corruption and political instabilities such as various separatist movements in Baluchistan and Waziristan resulted in reduction of business confidence, deterioration of economic growth, reduced public expenditure, poor delivery of public services, and undermining of the rule of law. The root causes of current unrest in whole country especially FATA and FRS are linked with the absence of the opportunities for youth in all sections of life in general and particular in livelihoods. Active participation of the youth in decision making and development of the area is neglected and never given a chance to decide their fate. This made youth of the area frustrated and restless and compelled them to take part in the unhealthy activities. Poverty and the lack of modern curriculum have proved destabilizing factors for Pakistani society as these causes our youth to be exploited by religious organizations banned by the government to run schools and produce militant literature. Eradication of poverty cannot be brought about by charity, but needs first and foremost empowering the poor, focusing on women, and tapping their tremendous potential.
