We are seeking an experienced professional to lead and manage end-to-end production operations in gravure printing and flexible packaging. The role demands ensuring optimal productivity, maintaining high-quality standards, achieving cost efficiency, meeting timely order completion, maximizing machine utilization, and adhering to safety protocols. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background combined with hands-on experience in flexible packaging production processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and supervise daily, weekly, and monthly production activities based on customer orders and production schedules.
- Oversee gravure printing, lamination, slitting, and related flexible packaging processes to ensure smooth operations.
- Achieve production targets within approved timelines while maintaining quality standards.
- Monitor machine utilization, production capacity, downtime, waste, and overall equipment efficiency (OEE).
- Coordinate with Planning, Sales, Quality Assurance, Procurement, Maintenance, and Stores departments to ensure uninterrupted production flow.
- Review production schedules and allocate manpower, machinery, materials, and other resources efficiently.
- Ensure availability of correct printing cylinders, inks, films, adhesives, and raw materials prior to production.
- Monitor critical process parameters such as printing registration, color consistency, ink viscosity, drying, and lamination bonding.
- Control production wastage and implement measures to reduce losses related to film, ink, adhesive, and other materials.
- Identify production bottlenecks and apply corrective and preventive actions promptly.
- Supervise proper machine setup, changeover, and production line clearance.
- Maintain detailed production records, including shift reports, downtime logs, wastage reports, and daily production KPIs.
- Lead root-cause analysis for production issues, defects, customer complaints, and machine-related problems.
- Collaborate closely with Maintenance teams to minimize machine breakdowns and enhance equipment reliability.
- Ensure compliance with approved SOPs, quality standards, GMP/5S, safety procedures, and company policies.
- Develop and train production staff on operating procedures, quality requirements, safety protocols, and productivity improvements.
- Monitor manpower productivity and optimize workforce deployment across production shifts.
- Conduct regular production meetings and communicate performance updates to senior management.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on cost reduction, process optimization, and lean manufacturing practices.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, identification, and traceability of work-in-process and finished goods.
- Prioritize and ensure timely completion of urgent and priority customer orders.
- Coordinate with Quality Control to verify that products meet customer specifications before dispatch.
- Maintain discipline and enforce adherence to attendance, PPE usage, safety, and workplace standards.
- Prepare monthly production performance reports for management review.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or technical qualification in Printing or Packaging is preferred; however, candidates with strong relevant experience will also be considered.
- 5 to 8 years of relevant experience in flexible packaging and gravure printing.
- Minimum of 2 to 3 years in a supervisory or managerial production role.
- Strong hands-on experience in gravure printing, lamination, slitting, and flexible packaging production processes.
Compensation and Work Location
The position offers a monthly salary range of Rs. 150,000 to Rs. 200,000. This is an in-person role requiring the candidate to work on-site.
