Accountant

Qasim Traders is seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of four years of relevant experience and hold qualifications such as B.Com, BBA, MBA, or be ACCA / CA part qualified. This position requires strong expertise in handling sales tax return submissions, managing import documentation, and understanding letters of credit and cash against documents processes. The Accountant will also coordinate with banks to manage payment transactions efficiently. The role demands accuracy, reliability, and a thorough understanding of accounting principles to ensure all financial records are maintained according to company policies and government regulations. In this role, the Accountant will be responsible for maintaining day-to-day financial records, preparing tax submissions, and supporting the finance department in import-related activities. The position does not involve managing a team, allowing the individual to focus on detailed financial analysis and reporting. Responsibilities

Prepare and submit accurate sales tax returns in compliance with regulatory requirements.
Manage import documentation processes including the opening and retirement of letters of credit (LC) and cash against documents (CAD).
Coordinate with banks for payment processing and reconciliation of financial transactions.
Maintain and update comprehensive financial records, ensuring accuracy and completeness of all accounting data.
Assist in the preparation of financial statements, reports, and summaries for internal and external use.
Perform regular audits of financial entries and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
Ensure compliance with company policies and external financial regulations at all times.
Support the finance team in handling import-related accounting processes and vendor payments.
Monitor and track payments and receipts, preparing reports for management review.
Maintain confidentiality of all financial information and adhere to ethical accounting standards.
Contribute to process improvements within the accounting function to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
