Software QA & Automation Test Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Software Quality Assurance & Automation Test Engineer to ensure the quality, reliability, performance, and security of our software applications used across academic and administrative operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in both manual and automated testing and will be responsible for maintaining high-quality standards throughout the software development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

Review requirements and design manual and automated test cases.
Perform functional, regression, integration, system, performance, security, and user acceptance testing.
Develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts for web applications and APIs.
Test REST APIs using Postman or similar tools.
Identify, document, prioritize, and track defects to resolution.
Verify bug fixes and perform regression testing.
Validate data using SQL queries and database-level checks.
Prepare test plans, test reports, and QA documentation.
Collaborate with developers, project managers, and stakeholders.
Ensure QA standards and best practices throughout the SDLC.
Support continuous improvement of testing processes and tools.

REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
Strong understanding of QA principles, methodologies, STLC, and SDLC.
Proven experience in manual testing and test case development.
Demonstrated experience in functional, regression, integration, and UAT.
Ability to analyze requirements and identify risks and defects.
Basic understanding of SQL for data validation and reporting.
Strong analytical, documentation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent attention to detail and a structured approach to testing.

PREFERRED SKILLS

Experience with automation tools like Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or similar.
Experience with API testing tools like Postman.
Familiarity with bug-tracking and test management tools such as Jira, Bugzilla, Azure DevOps, or TestLink.
Understanding of automation frameworks, version control systems (e.g., Git), and CI/CD pipelines.
Experience testing enterprise, educational, healthcare, financial, or administrative systems is a significant advantage.
