Assistant Professor - Pharmacy Practice

Riphah International University is seeking a dedicated Assistant Professor in Pharmacy Practice to join its esteemed faculty. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in clinical pharmacy and patient-centered pharmaceutical care, with a commitment to teaching excellence and innovative curriculum development. This position involves teaching both undergraduate and postgraduate courses, integrating clinical pharmacy practice into academic activities, and fostering an environment that promotes evidence-based medicine. The role requires active participation in research and scholarly activities, along with mentoring and supervising students through their academic journeys and clinical rotations. The Assistant Professor will play a pivotal role in curriculum development, quality assurance, and community engagement, ensuring alignment with the standards set by the Higher Education Commission and the Pharmacy Council. This position demands collaboration with hospitals and healthcare institutions to provide practical and experiential learning opportunities for students. With at least four years of relevant teaching or clinical pharmacy experience, the candidate will contribute to Riphah International University's mission of producing competent pharmacy professionals who adhere to ethical practice and continuous professional development.
Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Pharmacy Practice, covering areas such as Clinical Pharmacy, Community Pharmacy, Hospital Pharmacy, Pharmacotherapy, Patient Counseling, Medication Therapy Management, Pharmaceutical Care, Drug Information Services, and Pharmacy Law & Ethics.
• Prepare detailed course outlines, lesson plans, lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions while developing and implementing innovative teaching strategies such as case-based learning, problem-based learning, simulations, and clinical scenarios.
• Evaluate student performance through diverse assessment methods including quizzes, assignments, practical examinations, presentations, and semester examinations, ensuring accurate record keeping and timely submission of grades.
• Utilize Learning Management Systems and educational technologies to enhance the effectiveness of teaching and learning experiences.
• Integrate clinical pharmacy practice with teaching by supervising hospital and community pharmacy clerkships and rotations, guiding students during clinical rounds and patient care activities.
• Promote rational drug use and evidence-based medicine practices among students and collaborators; participate actively in medication reviews, patient counseling, and pharmacovigilance programs.
• Maintain strong partnerships with hospitals, healthcare facilities, and community pharmacies to facilitate experiential learning opportunities and professional collaborations.
• Conduct independent and collaborative research in Pharmacy Practice and Clinical Pharmacy, publishing findings in recognized journals indexed internationally and presenting at conferences to contribute to the academic community.
• Apply for research grants and funded projects, and supervise undergraduate and postgraduate research projects and theses to foster academic growth and inquiry.
• Serve as an academic advisor and mentor to students, supporting their research endeavors, career planning, and professional development, and monitor their academic progress to provide timely guidance.
• Support and participate in student societies, seminars, workshops, and extracurricular activities that promote learning and community involvement.
• Engage in curriculum development through review, revision, and the creation of new courses aligned with accreditation standards and outcome-based education principles.
• Maintain accurate documentation for accreditation and quality assurance, contributing to continuous improvement processes within the department and faculty.
• Participate in departmental, faculty, and university committees; assist in admission processes, examinations, accreditation activities, and academic audits.
• Coordinate academic and professional development events such as workshops, conferences, and seminars; contribute to strategic planning and policy implementation within the department.
• Organize community outreach initiatives such as health awareness campaigns and patient education programs; actively participate in continuing professional development activities aimed at pharmacists and healthcare professionals.
• Establish and nurture collaborations with hospitals, pharmaceutical industries, non-governmental organizations, and regulatory bodies to enhance academic and professional opportunities.
