Riphah International University is seeking an experienced Associate Professor in Project Management to join our academic team. The candidate will contribute significantly to teaching, research, and curriculum development within the field of Project Management. This role requires a PhD in Project Management or related disciplines, coupled with a minimum of 10 years of academic experience. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong command of project management frameworks, methodologies, and best practices, along with the ability to supervise research students and develop industry-academic partnerships. Though the position does not involve direct team management, leadership and mentoring within academic and research environments are essential.
The Associate Professor will be responsible for delivering lectures, conducting research, publishing scholarly work, and guiding student projects. The role demands proficiency with academic technologies and learning management systems to enhance the quality of instruction and curriculum delivery. Additionally, active participation in accreditation, quality assurance, and collaborative initiatives with the industry is expected to ensure the department's academic excellence and relevance. The candidate will be evaluated based on teaching effectiveness, research output, student supervision, curriculum innovation, and engagement with external stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver comprehensive lectures and seminars on project management topics, ensuring alignment with current industry standards and academic expectations.
- Design, update, and enhance curriculum content to reflect advancements in project management theory and practice.
- Conduct rigorous academic research leading to publications in recognized and HEC-approved journals.
- Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students on theses, dissertations, and applied research projects within the project management domain.
- Apply diverse research methodologies, both qualitative and quantitative, to explore and address complex project management challenges.
- Guide and mentor students and junior researchers, promoting academic growth, research skills development, and professional conduct.
- Engage actively in academic service activities such as curriculum committees, accreditation processes, and quality assurance functions.
- Collaborate with industry partners to establish research collaborations, internships, and practical learning opportunities for students.
- Utilize project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Gantt Charts, Critical Path Method, and Program Evaluation and Review Technique to illustrate project planning and control concepts.
- Employ risk management frameworks, including Enterprise Risk Management and ISO 31000, to deepen students understanding of risk assessment and mitigation.
- Incorporate financial analysis techniques such as cost-benefit analysis, financial modeling, discounted cash flow, and decision tree analysis within coursework and research.
- Advocate for and implement effective use of academic technologies and learning management systems to enhance teaching effectiveness.
- Contribute to the development of academic policies, promote research culture, and participate in departmental and university-level initiatives.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of contemporary developments in project management and related disciplines by attending conferences, workshops, and professional development events.
