Electrical Engineer

The Electrical Engineer will prepare and review detailed electrical plans such as single-line diagrams, load calculations, cable schedules, earthing designs, and protection systems. Their responsibilities include scrutinizing power system studies, managing compliance with engineering standards such as IEC and NEC, and engaging in value engineering and technical reviews. The role also involves close collaboration with structural, mechanical, civil, and architectural teams to ensure seamless project execution. While this position does not involve managing a team, it requires mentoring and providing technical guidance to junior engineers and technicians to maintain high standards of work quality and project performance. Proficiency in engineering software such as ETAP, SKM, AutoCAD Electrical, and Revit MEP is desirable, along with knowledge of Saudi Arabian electrical standards. Saudi Council of Engineers registration or eligibility is a plus.
Responsibilities

Lead the electrical engineering design process for HV, EHV, MV, and LV electrical systems from concept development through construction completion.
Develop, prepare, and review single-line diagrams, load calculations, cable schedules, earthing and protection system designs ensuring accuracy and compliance with standards.
Draft and critique electrical specifications, design reports, and technical submittals to guarantee project requirements and codes are met.
Coordinate electrical engineering activities with other disciplines including structural, mechanical, civil, and architectural teams for integrated project delivery.
Review and evaluate design elements of substations, transformers, switchgear, protection schemes, and SCADA/automation systems.
Supervise on-site electrical installations to ensure safety, quality, and adherence to design specifications and regulatory requirements.
Conduct power system studies such as load flow, short circuit analysis, arc flash, and harmonic distortion to verify system integrity and safety.
Engage regularly with clients, consultants, utility providers, and regulatory bodies to secure technical approvals and resolve project issues efficiently.
Participate in project technical reviews, client meetings, and value engineering to optimize project costs and performance.
Monitor project schedules, quality assurance standards, and safety compliance, addressing any deviations promptly.
Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and technicians, fostering skill development and knowledge sharing.
Stay up to date with the latest electrical engineering standards and regional regulations, including IEC, NEC/NFPA 70, BS 7671, SEC, and SASO.
Utilize electrical engineering software tools effectively to enhance design accuracy and project documentation.
Support the preparation and submission of technical documentation and ensure all deliverables align with client expectations and contract requirements.

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (B.E. / B.Tech) from a recognized university (Mandatory)
Master’s Degree in Electrical / Power Engineering (Preferred)
Professional Engineer (PE) license, IEI membership, or equivalent international certification (Highly Desirable)

Experience:

Minimum 10 years of progressive electrical engineering experience post-graduation
At least 5 years in a senior or lead engineering role managing complex multi-discipline projects
Middle East project experience (Experience is a plus)
Prior experience working with international EPC or PMC firms on large-scale developments
Willing to relocate to Saudi
