Senior Backend Developer (AWS Specialist)

We are seeking a skilled Backend Developer with strong expertise in Amazon Web Services (AWS) to join and grow our backend team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining server-side logic and infrastructure that supports scalable and high-performance applications. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of AWS cloud services and backend development best practices to ensure seamless integration, security, and performance of cloud-based solutions. Your responsibilities will include creating server-side APIs, managing databases, integrating third-party services, and focusing on performance, scalability, and security.

Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain server-side logic, APIs, and services for both web and mobile applications using AWS services. Optimize backend application performance and scalability to efficiently manage large volumes of data and traffic. Architect and deploy backend systems utilizing AWS components such as EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, API Gateway, DynamoDB, and CloudFront. Develop, monitor, and optimize serverless functions with AWS Lambda and Step Functions. Design and manage databases like PostgreSQL, ensuring security, backup, and recovery plans are implemented. Implement and manage secure authentication and authorization mechanisms using AWS Cognito and IAM policies. Collaborate closely with frontend developers, DevOps, and product teams to deliver seamless end-to-end application functionality. Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize backend systems using AWS CloudWatch, X-Ray, and other monitoring tools. Ensure backend systems follow best practices for security, performance, and reliability. Maintain comprehensive documentation for code, architecture, and infrastructure. Conduct code reviews, enforce coding standards, and mentor junior developers on AWS best practices.

Required Qualifications
A minimum of 3 years of backend development experience with a focus on cloud-based infrastructure, preferably AWS. Proficiency in backend programming languages such as Node.js, Python, Java, and PHP. Deep knowledge of AWS services including EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, DynamoDB, API Gateway, IAM, and CloudFront. Experience designing and building RESTful APIs or GraphQL services. Strong understanding of microservices architecture and experience with serverless technologies. Familiarity with containerization tools like Docker, ECS, and EKS, as well as CI/CD pipelines. Experience using infrastructure as code tools such as CloudFormation or Terraform. Solid grasp of AWS security best practices, including VPCs, IAM, encryption, and security groups. Knowledge of database design and hands-on experience with both SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (DynamoDB) databases. Proficiency with AWS monitoring and logging tools such as CloudWatch and X-Ray. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, agile development environment.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
