Senior Site Reliability Engineer (DevSecOps)

The Senior Site Reliability Engineer (DevSecOps) position is a full-time, on-site role based in Lahore. This role focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining highly available, secure, and scalable infrastructure and application environments. The engineer will monitor system performance, troubleshoot and resolve incidents, automate deployment and operational workflows, and embed security best practices within CI/CD pipelines. Collaboration with software development, security, and operations teams is essential to enhance system reliability, minimize downtime, and ensure consistent observability across services. Additional responsibilities include creating technical documentation, contributing to standards, mentoring team members, and proactively improving system resilience and compliance.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure, and highly available infrastructure and application environments.
- Monitor system performance and proactively identify and resolve incidents and bottlenecks in production systems.
- Automate deployment, operations workflows, and integrate security practices into CI/CD pipelines.
- Collaborate closely with development, security, and operations teams to improve reliability and observability.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation and contribute to technical standards and best practices.
- Mentor junior team members and support knowledge sharing within the team.
- Enhance system resilience, security compliance, and incident management processes.

Required Qualifications
- Proven expertise in Site Reliability Engineering, focusing on availability, scalability, observability, and resilience.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for production systems, incident resolution, and performance optimization in distributed environments.
- Hands-on software development experience in at least one modern programming language such as Python, Go, or Java, with scripting skills for automation.
- Solid system administration knowledge, particularly in Linux environments, networking fundamentals, and security hardening.
- Experience managing infrastructure on cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP, including container orchestration with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
- Background in DevSecOps, including CI/CD pipeline development, security scanning, secrets management, and compliance adherence.
- Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and alerting tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/EFK stacks, or Datadog, alongside incident management best practices.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and documentation skills, with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
