The Finance Associate is responsible for supporting day-to-day financial operations, including processing payments, maintaining accounting records, managing petty cash, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with organizational financial policies and procedures. The role ensures accuracy, transparency, and timely financial reporting in support of effective project implementation
Responsibilities
- Receive, review, and process invoices, expense claims, and payment requests in accordance with approved procedures.
- Verify calculations, supporting documentation, and correct account coding before entering data into the finance system.
- Manage petty cash transactions, conduct weekly reconciliations, and ensure accurate and timely filing.
- Assist in monthly and periodic reconciliation processes and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Assist in the preparation and review of financial statements and management reports.
- Maintain effective account tracking and financial reporting systems in line with organizational policies.
- Support internal, external, and donor audits by providing accurate financial documentation.
- Ensure compliance with organizational financial policies, donor regulations, and internal controls.
- Coordinate with program, procurement, and administrative teams to ensure smooth financial operations.
- Assist in the collection and follow-up of outstanding or past-due accounts.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Line Manager.
