Shariah Auditor

Sindh Bank Limited is seeking a qualified and experienced professional for the position of Shariah Auditor in its Audit Division. The position is responsible for conducting independent reviews of Islamic Banking operations to assess compliance with applicable Shariah principles, regulatory requirements, the Bank's approved Islamic Banking policies, and relevant procedures. The incumbent will evaluate Islamic Banking products, financing arrangements, operational processes, and related documentation to identify Shariah non-compliance risks and recommend appropriate corrective actions.

Responsibilities

Assist the Chief Internal Auditor in preparing the Shariah Audit Plan and strategy for approval by the Board Audit Committee.
Develop and update audit programs, procedures, and checklists to assess Shariah compliance of Islamic Banking products and services, including Murabaha, Ijarah, and Diminishing Musharaka.
Conduct Shariah audits of Islamic Banking branches, windows, pool management, and relevant divisions to evaluate compliance with Shariah principles, regulatory requirements, and internal controls.
Review relevant transactions, agreements, and supporting documentation, ensuring sufficient audit evidence is obtained and properly maintained.
Identify Shariah non-compliance, control weaknesses, and associated risks, and prepare comprehensive audit reports with appropriate recommendations.
Review audit work performed by team members, provide guidance, and ensure audit assignments are completed effectively and within timelines.
Discuss audit findings with management, agree on corrective actions, and monitor their implementation.
Review Shariah policies, procedures, and internal controls, and recommend improvements where necessary.
Keep abreast of developments in Shariah standards, Islamic finance, and applicable regulatory requirements to strengthen audit effectiveness.

Experience :

Minimum 3 years banking / F.I. experience in Shariah Audit function having sound knowledge of SBP regulations

Qualification :

Minimum graduate preferably ACCA / M.B.A / M.Com Shahadat ul Aalamiyah or PGD in Kuliyyatush Shariah

Age :

Upto 50 years
