Software Quality Engineer (AI-Augmented Testing & Critical Analysis)

We are seeking a detail-oriented Software Quality Engineer specializing in AI-augmented testing and critical analysis to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of software products by thoroughly analyzing business requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria to identify any gaps, ambiguities, or risks. This role involves executing a variety of testing types, leveraging AI tools to enhance test scenarios and root-cause analysis, and maintaining ownership of quality throughout the development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

- Analyze business requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria to uncover gaps, contradictions, and potential risks.
- Conduct functional, exploratory, regression, integration, end-to-end, API, and edge-case testing.
- Utilize AI technologies to generate test scenarios, test data, scripts, log summaries, and perform root-cause analysis while identifying hallucinations and weak outputs.
- Investigate defects using browser developer tools, application logs, API responses, database records, and monitoring tools.
- Test REST APIs by validating request/response contracts, verifying authorization and error handling, and using SQL to ensure data integrity.
- Perform load and performance testing with tools such as JMeter and Locust.
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Selenium, Python, or JavaScript.
- Validate bug fixes, assess regression risks, and continuously refine testing strategies and quality standards.
- Document defects clearly, communicate technical risks effectively, and take full ownership of quality assurance throughout the software development lifecycle.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 2 to 4 years of relevant experience in software testing.
- Strong analytical reasoning, critical thinking, and expertise in risk-based testing and boundary value analysis.
- Hands-on experience with Postman, SQL, Jira, and browser developer tools.
- Solid understanding of various testing methodologies including functional, exploratory, regression, integration, API, and end-to-end testing.
- Proficient in defect investigation, debugging, root-cause analysis, and fundamentals of test automation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, including the ability to analyze requirements and report defects professionally.
- Ability to identify assumptions, detect contradictions, evaluate competing explanations, and make evidence-based decisions.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits

Experience with AI-assisted testing and development tools such as ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Claude, Gemini, Cursor, and GitHub Copilot is highly desirable. Familiarity with Selenium, Python, JavaScript, PyCharm, Visual Studio, CI/CD pipelines, cloud environments, and distributed systems is preferred. Knowledge of enterprise or SaaS application testing will be considered an advantage.
