Team Supervisor (workshop)

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Automotive Workshop Supervisor to oversee daily operations and lead a team of technicians in a busy automotive workshop. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in automotive technology, combined with proven supervisory experience. This role requires excellent organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently, and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards and safety protocols within the workshop environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Supervise and manage all daily workshop activities and team operations to ensure smooth workflow.
- Assign tasks to technicians based on their expertise and current workload to optimize productivity.
- Monitor repair and maintenance work closely to guarantee quality and timely completion of jobs.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues as needed to support the team and maintain service standards.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of workshop tools, equipment, and resources.
- Track team performance, attendance, and productivity to maintain high operational standards.
- Enforce compliance with workshop safety procedures and company policies to create a safe working environment.
- Inspect completed jobs thoroughly to ensure vehicles meet the required quality standards before delivery.
- Coordinate effectively with the Workshop Manager, service advisors, and other departments to streamline operations.
- Maintain accurate records of workshop activities, repairs, and job progress for reporting and analysis.
- Provide training and guidance to technicians to enhance their technical skills and overall efficiency.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety standards within the workshop at all times.

Required Qualifications

- Diploma of Associate Engineering (DAE) in Automotive Technology or an equivalent qualification.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working in an automotive workshop, with a preference for candidates who have supervisory experience.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance, repair procedures, and diagnostic techniques.
- Excellent team management and communication skills to effectively lead and motivate staff.
- Ability to perform well under pressure and manage multiple jobs simultaneously.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities to address technical and operational challenges.
- Thorough understanding of workshop safety procedures and quality standards to ensure compliance and safety.
