Velogroup is seeking an AI/ML or Data-Focused Developer to join our dynamic team in Lahore. This full-time, office-based role requires excellent communication skills in English and a strong technical background in machine learning and data science. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the founder and technical leadership, ensuring that innovative AI and machine learning models are effectively translated into production-ready solutions. This role demands a practical approach to deploying real-world applications and maintaining alignment with our UK-based collaborative team through consistent time zone overlap.
The developer will be responsible for handling diverse data-focused tasks, including preparation, visualization, and modeling. We value candidates with a portfolio demonstrating prior projects involving deployed models or research in computer vision, natural language processing, or other AI domains. Although team management is not part of this role, the position involves active participation in cross-functional discussions and the delivery of scalable AI solutions within the automotive or pricing system contexts preferred but not required. The ideal candidate demonstrates proficiency with cloud computing platforms, deep learning frameworks, and version control systems, alongside a commitment to continuous improvement and practical problem solving.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and deploy machine learning models and AI solutions that address complex data challenges.
- Preprocess and analyze large datasets using statistical methods to prepare data for modeling and visualization.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical AI/ML applications with practical impact.
- Maintain version control for all codebases and model artifacts using industry-standard systems such as Git.
- Conduct thorough testing and validation of models to ensure reliability and robustness in production environments.
- Document machine learning workflows, model architectures, and deployment procedures clearly for interdisciplinary teams.
- Engage in continuous learning to integrate emerging machine learning frameworks, big data technologies, and cloud computing services.
- Work closely with the founder and the tech leadership team to align development efforts with organizational goals and timelines.
- Coordinate with the UK-based team ensuring at least 34 hours overlap for meetings, reviews, and collaborative development.
- Participate actively in technical interviews and coding assessments, providing transparent evidence of prior project experience via portfolio or GitHub.
- Foster a practical mindset by converting algorithmic research into production-ready features that enhance product functionality.
- Support MLOps practices when applicable, including model monitoring, scaling, and retraining to meet evolving business needs.
- Leverage data storytelling techniques to communicate insights and machine learning model performances effectively to non-technical stakeholders.
- Apply knowledge of automotive data or pricing systems as a value-add to targeted model development and deployment strategies.
