Kodestra is seeking a talented and versatile creative professional to join a project-based contract role focused on producing high-quality digital comic illustrations combined with cinematic 2.5D animation. This opportunity is fully remote and offers negotiable compensation based on your portfolio and the specific project requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of visual storytelling, layered artwork, character consistency, and motion comic production, going beyond traditional video editing to deliver immersive and dynamic content.
Key Responsibilities
- Create approximately 40 original comic panels with a semi-realistic, cinematic dark-fantasy style.
- Develop 10 animated videos, each lasting between 30 to 36 seconds, utilizing 2.5D parallax animation techniques.
- Prepare layered artwork optimized for 2.5D animation, ensuring smooth parallax depth, camera movements, atmospheric effects, and cinematic transitions.
- Maintain character consistency and visual coherence throughout both illustration and animation phases.
- Manage the entire pipeline independently, from initial artwork creation to final animated scenes.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in digital illustration and comic or graphic novel artwork.
- Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop or Clip Studio Paint for illustration work.
- Skilled in Adobe After Effects for animation and motion comic production.
- Strong knowledge of 2.5D parallax animation techniques and motion comics.
- Ability to separate layers effectively and compose artwork suitable for animation.
- Demonstrated capability to maintain character consistency across sequential artwork and animation.
- Portfolio must clearly showcase both original comic illustrations and completed 2.5D animation or motion comic projects.
- Ability to work independently and manage both illustration and animation workflows.
- Please note that manually created illustrations are mandatory; AI-generated artwork will not be accepted for the illustration component.
Preferred Qualifications and Additional Information
- Candidates with experience in cinematic dark-fantasy visuals will be highly regarded.
- Availability to participate in a lightweight skills assessment may be requested prior to final project confirmation.
