Assignment

The PD department supports the successful operations in ACTED Pakistan through three core roles:

·       Coordination – developing and maintaining timely, accurate and effective mechanisms internal and external liaison, reporting and follow up including advocacy;

·       Communication – leading the creation, collation and publishing of articles, posters, leaflets and other materials for external communications in line with donor and HQ requirements;

·       Project development, fundraising and management – organising proposal development and submission, internal project coordination and donor reporting as per contractual requirements.

·       Grant management – ensuring contract follow up, quality of reporting and partner follow up.

Responsibilities

The candidate would be expected to conduct PD related tasks for Pakistan, including, but not limited to:

·     Coordination:

o   Acting as a key focal point for particular projects as assigned;

o   Support internal coordination meetings;

o   Support provincial level cluster and other external reporting and representation.

·     Communication:

o   Develop flash news and monthly articles related to the projects;

o   Conduct field visits to ensure visibility and prepare communication documents such as photographs and case stories.

·     Project development and management:

o   Lead on donor reporting for projects;

o   Develop humanitarian and development proposals;

o   Organise PD filing and records in soft and hard copy;

o   Support strategic planning upon request.

·     Grant Management

o   Contract follow up

o   Partner follow up

o   Reporting – internal and external

About the ideal candidate

We are looking for a candidate who:

o   has at least 1 year’s experience working within the humanitarian/development sector;

o   has a strong willingness to learn;

o   committed to travelling in field locations across Pakistan;

o   has excellent written and spoken English;

o   has strong computer skills including familiarity with word, excel and powerpoint;

o   has an undergraduate degree from a reputed university;

o   pays attention to detail;

o   has good analytical skills;

o   has a strong working ethic and is willing to work additional hours in order to complete tasks;

o   O level and A level candidates preferred.
